The Indiana Commission for Higher Education reports that the more you learn, the more you earn.
Education pays real dividends:
- Annual average earnings for full-time workers is $21,600 for high school dropouts, $30,800 for high school graduates, $37,600 for workers with Associate’s degrees and $49,900 for workers with Bachelor’s degrees.
- Lifetime average earnings for full-time workers is $1.1 million for high school dropouts, $1.4 million for high school graduates, $1.8 million for workers with Associate’s degrees and $2.5 million for workers with Bachelor’s degrees.
- High school dropouts earn $300,000 less than high school graduates over their lifetime and earn $1 million less than college graduates over their lifetime.
- A high school dropout earns $9,000 less than a high school graduate, $16,000 less than someone with an Associate (two-year college) degree and $28,000 less than someone with a Bachelor’s (four-year college) degree each year.
